This sounds suspiciously like you have a disk drive out of alignment.
If the machine is only 3 months old, you should be able to take it
back to the dealer for (free) warrantee repair, since it comes with a
year warrantee.  You can also call Commodore Express.  They'll pick it
up (free) and fix it.  I don't have the number handy.
