Wiskunde & Informatica, VU, Amsterdam Lines: 26 I have bought a NEC MultiSync 2A monitor, but my VGA card has some trouble with 800x600 modes. It is a Tseng ET3000 based card with 512K, 8 bits (a Puretek VGA Ultra) which seems to be Orchid Pro Designer compatible. When I put my monitor in 800x600, either 16 or 256 colors, the monitor clicks and gives a faded, horizontally shrunk image. When I load the BIOS into RAM (the TurboVGA.COM program), 800x600x16 works, but still clicks. The BIOS version is 8.00, both ROM and RAM. Is there anything I can do to make it work? Perhaps a new BIOS version? Would it be legal if someone sent me one? Can the monitor be damaged by using 800x600 modes anyway? Thanks in advance, Michael Schaap msschaa@cs.vu.nl
