I believe disk optimizers and fixers like DI or Mace Remedy/Unfrag will work, but the Spinrite manual mentions that controllers which fool the machine into thinking its got fewer sectors/more cylinders are incompatible with it (or the other way around..) 8-) We managed to trash the second partition on a 60 Meg Priam drive which used EDVR.SYS with Spinrite....
