I have a 386 system with 8MB of memory and 386max pro. 5.1.
I have several TSRs and resident programs which are ALL loaded above
640k, and I have approximately 70k free for additional TSRs above
this limit.  I end up with 604112 bytes free to DOS which I think
is excellent.

I can thoroughly recommend 386max.  The latest version supports
Windows 3 in all modes.  It can also be used in place of QEMM with
DesqView and works slightly faster than the QEMM version I have
been able to try.
