Message-ID: <1941@borg.cs.unc.edu> Date: 27 Feb 91 19:19:17 GMT Sender: news@cs.unc.edu Organization: University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill Lines: 25 I called Zeos tech support yesterday. All their representatives were busy, I wasn't asked to hold, but to leave my name and phone number. They called me 10 minutes later. Now isn't that nice? I could have waited, listening to muzak but no, they actually bother to call you back. Highlights from the conversation: You cannot install extra memory yourself because the memory chips are bundled together in a module that has to be soldered onto the motherboard, several links have to be made/broken as well. Also, opening up the machine will void the warranty. The ca.240$ modem upgrade is a 2400 baud MNP5 modem with FAX capabilities. Is there someone out there who is using the fax option in this modem? I'd like to know if it really works, if it'll do graphics and how much of a hassle it is to use it. Several callers have complained about the short cord from the power supply to the computer, the technician said they would probably lengthen it in the future. Don't let this scare you away from the Zeos, it's really not a big issue. I'm probably going to have to buy another Zeos, my wife has taken over this one and is head over heels in love with it - it matches sexy black dresses perfectly... -- Kari Hardarson | Twas brillig and the slithy toves 217 Jackson Circle | did gyre and gimble in the wabe...
