What exactly does MacTCP Prep bring to the party.  I
have been using MacTCP for a few years now and all of
a sudden have been having problems associated with 
MacTCP Prep, i.e. things work again when I replace it.

Getting rid of prep does nothing, I must replace it with
a copy from another machine.
