LaCie provides better software with their scanner (or used to -- I think Microtek is shipping Photoshop now as well) and the price is better; however, there is a new model of the Microtek that can be fitted with a transparency attachment to scan 35mm slides and negatives. Your best bet is to call both companies and ask for their literature on the products, then compare features vs. price. Both produce quite acceptable output, and my experience with Microtek service and support is quite good. -mike ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Michael T.
