Hello,
A while back I queried the net for advice on 68040 books.  Apparently, the only
source for 040 info is Motorola.  Call 800-441-2447 for Doc. Distrib.
I ordered the User's Manual (for about $3) and the Programmer's Ref. (for
about the same).  I did get a student discount, but only about 20%.  Still,
they were essentially free in my opinion -- a very good deal for the 
definitive source.

BTW, I also got their 56000/56001 User's Manual, which is also very nice.
