Wow. I'd like to correct myself and add that the size listed by 'ps' is a bit misleading. According to NeXT Software Engineering, Preferences usually used only 8 or 9 pages (64-72KB) for its own use (the rest is mapped into Preferences' address space from the shared libraries). So that leaves us with a realistic figure closer to 1.7 GB, not 22 GB... -Declan
