Disclaimer:

i'm having trouble getting perl up on the iris. so far i've tried all
of the relevant suggestions in the readme, to no avail. i'm quite
familiar with installing/porting software but perl is a bit large and i
don't have the time to figure it out right now. does anyone have the
appropriate set of incantations for this? basically what happens is -

Configure, make depend: looks good...
make: scattered warnings (mostly function ptrs being int instead of void)
make test: loses - "no tests run for some reason"

when run with most scripts it hangs as if awaiting input. if anyone
needs a more detailed description i have a log of the my compilation
attempts.
