As near as I can tell this is not treated in the FAQ or anywhere else
that I can find it:

Question:  Does there exist a collection of DIFFS or PATCHES that can
be applied to the Unitex distribution (as a whole) [gotten either by
tape or by FTP from labrea...] that will upgrade it from version X to
version Y?

Note that I am talking about ugrading the whole thing; not just
upgrading TeX.

If the answer is ``no'', why not?
