If you did (or if you set it up manually), double-check the definition of the D (domain name) macro in /etc/sendmail.cf: # grep DD /etc/sendmail.cf If it comes back saying DDlocal you need to change it to DDstanford.edu If that's been done, then make sure that the new config file has been frozen.
