To prevent unauthorised use we use a "security key", ie a small device that plugs into a port on the PC, which our software periodically checks is still there, if it is not our application exits. This worked fine with Windows version 2 but causes Windows 3 to crash the first time it checks for the key. We notified the supplier, who knew of the problem and said a fix was on the way. That was last november and apparently no fix has yet been found. We have customers waiting for a Windows verison 3 version of our software and so we are looking for other suppliers of similar devices. Could anyone who uses or knows of a key that works under Micro-Soft Windows version 3 running in 386 enhanced mode please mail me. We are currently using a SentinelPro from Rainbow Technologies.
