I can send the Pixmap Editor source code that handles fielding drag-and- drop events to anyone who's interested. > Can anybody tell me whether it is possible to use these functions to > (e.g.) move a button interactively within a window ? OLIT drag-and-drop can handle textual data and filenames, but there's no way I can think of to use that to do what you want. If you're just moving the widget within it's own window/application, you could perhaps look at it as a lighter weight 'move' operation rather than a full drag-and-drop, with all its associated inter-client negotiations. > If I remember well, I once heard a rumour that these routines would change > drastically in the next releases. Any comments ???? Yes, OLIT will change to use the new ICCC-endorsed standard for drag-and-drop once it is finalized. The good news it will be able to handle the transfer of most any kind of data (as ICCCM selections), and that other vendors will likely also migrate to use the standard, acheiving greater interoperability. The bad news is it still seems a ways off. > Thanks in advance, You're welcome in retrospect, 8^) Jim Bash UNIX(r) System Labs Summit, New Jersey j.bash@att.com Larry Cable Sun Microsystems Mt.
