I just tested the R4 xedit against a low-end 3D system, and it worked fine. You didn't mention what version of Ultrix you were running, so maybe we've fixed something in a subsequent release that may have affected this. The other suggestion I might have is to try hiding your .Xdefaults file to see if perhaps something in there is screwing up the cursor. I've seen stranger things happen. On the other hand, if you must edit with a windowing editor, please try the dxnoteapad editor that's shipped with Ultrix ;-) You may find it more to your liking. -joel
