The essence as I tried to convey what many of the ideas are in VR/VW that are slowly becoming a separate discipline is that the human/machine interface is becoming the true bottleneck and needs enhancement beyond the keyboard/CRT interface of the last 15 years. More than just two-dimensional video and telephone quality sound is needed. All five senses may be involved. The term I coined was BANDWIDTH TO THE BRAIN B. D. Woods
