The two recommmendations were for - Blast - Professional-YAM by Omen Technology INC Based on this and some local recommendations, we are purchasing Blast. These are the requirements from my original posting: ------------------ The application is critical, so we are seeking a commercial package with good vendor support. Some of the features we are looking for are: 1. Automatic initiation of the transfer at a user defined time (so we can set up to transfer after we leave work). Automatic retry if busy or other failure. 2. Able to transfer text and binary. 3. Error checking to guarantee proper delivery. 4. Password exchange or other security to prevent unauthorized access. We hope to avoid writing scripts or transferring files manually, and we prefer to purchase a package tailored to automated file transfer. The software should run on a standard IBM type PC and should support 9.6 modem speed (with AT command set). We control both ends of the links, so compatibility with other hardware and software is not an issue. ----------------------- Steve Armil AT&T Paradyne
