I now have a DECstation 3100 and am having some difficulties with keys. (NOT the ESC key.) I now start emacs by rlogin on to the Sun and issue "emacs -display DEC:0". I have found that the VT220 Function keys F1 - F9 match nicely with the Sun's F1- F9 ( and probably explains the weird strings that are sent). Further, I find that DEC F13 match Sun L1; F14 -> L2; F17-F20 -> L7-L10. All fine and dandy. Now the rub. DEC's F10, Help, Do, Find, InsertHere and Select all send "^[[-1z". Remove, PrevScreen, NextScreen, PF1-4 all send NOTHING and the numeric keypad all send what is embossed on the key. I will soon either make emacs for the DECstation or get a SparcStation. I would, in the mean while like to turn on the recalcitrant key. If anyone understands this behaviour (the machines' not mine) please fill me in.
