I have several Type 3 font files (.PFA format) which seem incompatible with my font downloading software. It wants Type 1 files with a .PFB extension. Also, is it necessary to have a font metrics file (.AFM) for each .PF? file? And, can I just send the .PF? file (with or w/o .AFM) directly to the printer and expect it to stick in the FontDirectory? Any help greatly appreciated!
