Any help would be welcome. > The Mil-Stds can be gotten as publication NIC 5004 - "DDN Protocol Handbook, Vol 1" from DDN Network Information Center, SRI International, Menlo Park, CA, 94025. It was put together in 1985. They can also be requested from the Naval Publications and Forms Center (NPFC) (individually, by name) which is : Naval Publications and Forms Center Code 3015 5801 Tabor Drive Philadelphia, PA 19120 The Mil-Stds in question date back to 1983. I know that there are still military acquisitions that reference those particular specs, but to be really interoperable, vendors should be referencing RFC 1122 & RFC 1123 and using them as their criteria. Any military acquisition authority that doesn't invoke 1122 & 1123 is seriously behind the times. Some people still come up with their specs in a virtual vacuum, however... The catch-22 disclaimer of course: The opinions above are my own and do not represent official views of the U.S. Government. (maybe the opinions are catching on... :-) /matt -- Lt Matthew W Jonson jonson@server.af.mil snail-mail: Network Systems Engineer 205-279-4075 SSC/SSMT USAF DDN Program Office AV: 596-4075 Gunter AFB, AL 36114
