I have the new GVP series II with the 43MB fujitsu (28ms) drive. it is reall nice, i get over 400K/sec reads with the slow drive (if you have the quantum you'll get over 700K/sec) you can expand it to 2,4, or 8 megs of RAM the only thing that suck about the ram is that it has 4 slots for SIMMS, right now i have 4 1mb simms installed, and if i want to upgrade to 8mb then i have to sell those and buy the 4mb simm modules. other then that i would recommend it as the best hardrive available for the 500. BTW, if you want to add ram to it then i suggest you call a place called SHECOM, (sorry i cant find the number anywhere) but you can get the 1MB SIMM modules for about $42 a piece and the 4MB SIMMS are about $225 (those are 80ns) If you dont have the number and need it then mail me and i'll try to find it. |Chuck Teschke | |---------------------------------------------------------------------------- | USENET:chuckt@theborg.mlb.fl.us |"If i have 5 megs of RAM, then why does | FIDONET: 374/1 | this program keep accessing the disk?!?" |---------------------------------------------------------------------------- "My employer could care less about my opinions..."
