Greetings, a friends Teac FD235 connected to his ST via his own cable
can read but not write to or format a disc. The drive is brand new.
Does the cable to the drive need terminating with a resistor pack?
When trying to format the disc  the ST replies:
"disc unservisable or write protected"
Any help greatly appreciated.
