I am trying Desterm out again on my 128, and when I go to thick pixels in either 40 or 80 columns my screen 'flakes out'. I get 3 vertical bars on screen and what I type may or may not appear. The left half of the top info line is sorta present, with the fourth character from the right rapidly changing. Also the cursor controls to adjust which set of 40 columns I am looking at don't seem to work. I have downloaded it twice, the first time using Xmodem, the second time using my first copy of Desterm and Ymodem. During the un-archive, the only error reported was the one mentioned in the notes. Everything else about Desterm seems to work great, but I really would like this feature to also work. I have a cable that takes the composite signal from the RGB connector and feeds it to my composite monitor. Maybe this makes a difference? My guesses: - I have original C128 roms, maybe this makes a difference. - My video chip is funny, although the normal 80 column mode has no problems. - Others have experienced the same thing and it is a problem with Desterm. - There is something about thick pixel mode I don't understand and am not setting up correctly. - ?????????? Yes, I did download in binary mode from the milton site using ftp, and the file sizes were exactly the same on both ends. Thanks for any info, Warren Tustin warren@col.hp.com
