This smudge is horizontal, and wraps around to the left side of the screen. The problem occurs even if I'm in normal vga mode. I was thinking that maybe maybe it's some sort of signal noise problem, but I don't know much about this sort of thing. I have trident 8900 svga and a CTX 5468 multisync monitor. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! kevin
