  I have a project which needs multiline parallel input and output. The
minimum is 16 bits in and 16 bits out (could be two 8 bit ports).
Addition lines, ability to generate interrupts, etc, all useful.

  I know there are a few printer port cards which actually have full
input, but I'm not sure which they are, and they're not really designed
for input use, they just sort of have it.

  What have people used?
