Summary: T1000SE praise Message-ID: <1991Mar4.160931.204@esseye.UUCP> Date: 4 Mar 91 16:09:31 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: Smiths Industries Lines: 19 Just thought I'd toss out a little praise for the T1000SE. Last evening while multiplexing a little work with playing with my son, I spilled diet coke on the computer (it was folded up at the time). It looked like very little had gotten into the works, so I booted it up and all seemed to work fine. Not for long though. After some flakey operation, all died. On pulling things apart I found pop in the memory card slot that had evidently flowed through under the cpu board, from the power supply side where the pop had spilled. Ouch... I left the unit sit over night to dry out and on starting up found that all worked perfectly except I'd lost the contents of the hardram. A reformat and reload from most recent backups and all is functioning perfectly... My guess is that the low voltage levels of the system saved me from component damage due to random shorts.
