It's part of the Smart Alarms package from JAM software. But if you don't need anything fancy, knowing how it works can save you some money. What these programs usually do, is locate a special application file on your server. The application or DA scans all mounted disks for it's files and loads them when you open the application. Well Why not just keep a multi-user hypercard stack on your server instead? This is not to be construed as a complaint about SmartAlarms. Our users like it. It's well priced for a small network. I recommend it for users who don't like to tinker. One problem, we use the 6.0.1 laserwriter drivers, and the program doesn't support them correctly. We have had only one user disapointed by this.
