OPINION MODE ON: The way I see it, Mac users and Amiga users both suffer personality conflicts with their computers. We see endless arguments between computer X and computer Y, X is faster, Y is cheaper, X plays better games, Y has a better GUI, etc. etc. Enough already! As I remember it, the original poster asked an opinion about buying an Amiga 500 for games. Yet, the thread degenerated down to a brawl about hardware speeds, abilities, and uses. Here's the way I see it. The original poster was impressed with the Amigas games. Here's my opinion. I've played tons of games on a friends 500, and I could easily spend days going through his software collection, and find at least 100 disks of truly GREAT games. If you can afford it, the 500 is an excellent game machine. (It's about $500 for the computer, $250 for the monitor, and $??? for the extra RAM? Someone will have to correct me here, I don't know the current Amiga pricing) So, for the price of a 16 Bit game system such as the Genesis, and a good amount of games, you can have a full 500 setup capable of playing a HUGE amount of what I think are some of the best games for a personal computer. I personally love Shadow of the Beast, I think it shows a programmers deep knowledge of the computer he is working on. I think this is why such great games come out for the Amiga, the programmers. These people know the system inside and out, and it shows in their products. Well, I hope I have answered the original question here, and haven't been too long winded.....
