I use Telnet 2.3.4 to get stuff off my unix account to the Mac. All this time I have been using the SE/30's in USC's computing labs since they decode and unstuff faster. Purely by luck one day, I had to use a old Mac II and voila, everything worked! I've also tried ftp'ing the same files from sumex on a SE and a SE/30. The SE/30 would give me an CRC checksum error everytime while the SE, A LOT slower, decoded and unstuffed the files correctly. What gives? I don't know if this helps anyone out there but I would try downloading (via Telnet anyways) on a non-68030 machine. Don't know why it works but it does... Tony Chi tchi@usc.edu
