Message-ID: <1991Mar7.004322.1@gacvx1.gac.edu> Date: 7 Mar 91 06:43:22 GMT Organization: Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minnesota Lines: 27 Nntp-Posting-Host: gacvx1 Nntp-Posting-User: youngdahl As I'm a college student looking to buy a Macintosh LC, I'm obviously looking to save a little money if I can, so perhaps someone here can help me: Since a person can (with the correct cable) hook up a VGA monitor to a Mac LC, I have a few questions 1. How much will a VGA monitor which is comparible in picture quality to the Apple RGB 13" monitor cost? 2. Will this monitor give me (w/the VRAM expansion) the same 640x480x256 graphics as the Apple RGB 13" gives on the LC? 3. What brand/model would you recommend? Also, I heard that quite a few Mac programs will not run properly on a 12" LC system, due to the fact that many assume that a color Mac computer has 640x480 graphics. I *want* the 16-bit color the 12" monitor gives, but if that means that incompatibilites/problems will arrise, I'd just as well spend a little more and get a 8-bit color 13" system. Comments?
