However, I'm guessing you put that in /private/etc/crontab.local. This file previously didn't exist. After you do this, you should do an ln /private/etc/crontab.local /usr/lib/crontab.local (check the man page, under FILES.) I don't know if this will solve your problem, but it works for zog and me. -william shipley
