I think you'll probably find that the file naming limitations are not there if you don't want them to be (although you may want to stick with them for interoperability purposes). After all, NetWare allows wierdo Mac file names... Remember, you are *NOT* dealing with DOS here. It's NetWare, which has all sorts of things in its file system that DOS doesn't have (last access date, long file names, file ownership and protection). In fact, it's probably better thought of as a superset of Unix or DOS file systems. C'mon, let's not trash them (Novell) before we see how it all works. From what I've seen, this product will be well worth it in my environment (125 PCs, four NetWare servers, 100 Unix workstations, a few Macs) to greatly enhance interoperability, if nothing else.
