I've seen workable 1200 modems that are Hayes compatible (At least they have the AT attention command) for prices well under $50, one for $29.95, that unless you have software that knows about the 2212, kiss it off. But if you persist, the 2212 senses baud from the terminal issuing an "*." with no trailing CR or LF. Then it's DT for Dial Tone, the number, and "X" for eXecute. "," is a pause if I remember. I haven't played with a 2122 since maybe 1986 or so. Mike Yetsko
