Well, up here I had to log on to our VAX system using my Geneve. I used Telco and used VT52 emulation (set term/vt52 should be typed when on the VAX). For transfers, we have XMODEM so why bother with Kermit. As for a serial port. As long as she has a PE Box with an RS232 card or the standalone RS232, she has a serial port. If she doesn't have a modem, tell her to keep in mind when hooking one up that the cable has to be set in a certain way. I have my cable using 3 wires: 2,3 and 7. Solder 2 to 3 and 3 to 2 and 7 to 7. Then you are ready to hook up the cable to the modem and serial port and go ahead with telecommunications... Hope I helped... ____ / o n y.
