  I was just skimming through a copy of PC World (February 1991, pg 44) 
and came accross a side bar that rated Desktop Publishing packages. 
They surveyed 200 organizations, each with at least 50 PCs installed.  
Below is a copy of their findings:

 	  	   Installed Base  Satisfaction    Buying Plans
Pagemaker		921    		4.1		55%
Ventura			499		3.9		14%
First Publisher		127		3.8		12%
Interleaf		109		4.4		 5%
Byline			 52		3.8		 *
Other			256		4.2		12%

Installed Base - the total number of each program used on all the sites.
Satisfaction - on a scale of 1 (=low) to 5 (=high).
Buying Plans - percent of sites that plan to buy more of installed program.
   * - not reported

  I hope this was helpful for people looking towards buying a PC DTP program.
