I'm looking for a color unix box: -BSD 4.3 (or SunOS or ULTRIX, or some BSD based UNIX) -Ethernet connector -2 or more serial ports -floppy drive (1.44M) -at least 8 megs of RAM and space for at least 16 (4M SIMMs or 1M SIMMs) -SCSI connector (and space for a SCSI drive internally) -X windows (R4 preferred) -megapixel color (8 bits or more) -1.5 (or more) megaflops floating point -RISC processor desirable (68040 also good) -good C and C++ compilers (GCC, G++) -GNU software (either already on it, or will compile for it) -X clients (either on it, or will compile for it) -other software -... -low cost repairs (ie, if it breaks, it won't cost a fortune to get it fixed) -inexpensive (ahh, the twist :) So what machine should I get? I'm on a constrained budget :( I realize that this is a "religious" matter :) I would like to solicit opinions as well as offers (if you have such a box).
