The reason my dump/rdump commands started dumping core instead of file systems was because of the following line in the fstab file: userdisk@argo:/nfs/argo/userdisk:rw:0:0:nfs:soft,retry=1000,bg,rw We have MULTINET NFS and I just started mounting stuff off our VMS system. Although the above fstab entry mounted the directory fine, it causes dump to dump core. The fix was to change it to: /userdisk@argo:/nfs/argo/userdisk:rw:0:0:nfs:soft,retry=1000,bg,rw Which makes everyone happy! Roland -- Roland J.
