The original Windows was delayed because the memory manager was rewritten to be protected-mode API comatible; the payoff is that the move from 2.xx to 3.0 wasn't too painful and now globally allocating 800K of memory is quite easy. I'd say if GeoWorks programs have to be rewritten to go protected, the system is doomed to the 640K graveyard... Aaron Wallace
