Now that you mention it, SP 1.2 (set at 2 minutes idle) ... WinQVT/net 
appears to survive a few saver timeouts before UAEing at idle

I didn't know what the -w actually did, but this explanation sounds 
reasonable to me ... by the way I am running ni5210 on v7x packet drivers.

On some sessions I never see this, other times that is almost all I get ...

As much as I would like to know that they are listening, I won't hold my 
breath ... commercial (FTP) companies HAVE to listen, private on the other 
hand may not be able to.
