Well, the problem here sounds like a problem NOT with getting stuff from CICA but from your local network connected machine to your PC. The mention of PROCOMM and KERMIT brings to mind a problem with parity none connections/transfers with PROCOMM. I have had problems with old versions of PROCOMM when using 8 bit no parity connections. Works fint with parity even.
