After some dithering, I've managed to make 386MAX 5.1 work with W3.0, in enhanced mode. My machine here at work has 10M RAM, so I set up a 1M cache and a 1M RAMdisk. A quick look at the Prog. Man. shows that it thinks I have 14M free RAM right now. I believe the trouble I was having was with my video card, so I flipped a couple of dipswitches and was off and running. Anyway, I don't have direct experience with QEMM386 but from some reports it sounds overrated. We have ordered a package called Netroom, which supposedly is especially good for systems running network software (the throughput is better). I'll let you know. -- + + + + + + + |snewton@thesisa.hsch.utexas.edu An old pine tree preaches wisdom, |Nobody else speaks for me, And a wild bird is crying out Truth. |and I speak for no one else. | + + + + +
