   Whenever a program running is minimized, the icon goes in the lower
left corner of the screen.  Is there any way to change the default so that
they go in say, the upper right side of the screen....?   I'm getting a 
little sick of having to move them every time I start a program.

   There is nothing in the SYSTEM.INI or WIN.INI files that hints at this
and of course the wonderful 700 page manual is just FILLED with useful
information on this topic.
