Environment: We are using 11R3 under Interactive UNIX. We are also using Motif 1.0. The processor is a 486. Backgound: We are creating "utilities" to test LSI and VLSI chips/wafers. The tester is controlled through the 486PC. We have a controlling system of processes that allows "applications" and "utilities" to both have control of the tester and knowledge of what was modified in the tester configuration. A particular process controls who at that moment can read or write to the tester. This process allows utilities access when it requests to get control. This process then gives control if no application is running. The mechanism used is that the controlling process knows about a utility though a particular function in the utility. Problem: What we need is once the utility gets access, we must be able to handle events normally (interactive mode). How do you get things started up again? Thanks in advance. ANY help is appreciated! Caroline Niebres Micro Component Technology, Inc. 3850 North Victoria Shoreview, MN 55126-0013 (612) 482-6335 uunet!mct-1!niebres
