    or will this lock all X users into using Bitstream as their font vendor?

also know that there is nothing exclusive about this donation.  Other font
vendors are welcome/encouraged to donate their rasterization technology,
and X vendors are certainly not prohibited from incorporating other font
technology into their X/font server.
