I had attended their booth at Comdex last fall, but no one there seemed to be up on the specifics of the UNIX product ... they were promarily pushing the new DOS based version, "Arago". Of cousre when you call Wordtech directly on specs, the story is that the UNIX product is blindingly fast, fully dBase III+ compatible, and has a rich set of functions ... but when I ask about specfic capabilities concerning windowing, scrolling arrays and such needed to build proper pick lists, I seem to get a lot of "ummm ... I'l have to get back to you on that" type of answers. The small ammount of pamphlet info they'll send you suggests some windowing support, multidimensional arrays, and a symbolic debugger, but does not elaborate. They also have a BBS, *but* you must be a registered owner of Quicksilver to get on it. I was hoping to ask some of these questions there ... oh well. An application I'm interested in using this compiler with is SBT accounting, with is pretty much plain dBase source ... runs pretty darn slow under Foxbase for Xenix. So if anyone has had the pleasure of working with this product, and can give me a little feedback, I'd be grateful! -- I'm just a wanna be UNIX guru (IJWBUG) | Micro Maintenance, Inc. | 2465 W. 12th St. #6 -== Brad Fisher ==- | Tempe, Arizona 85281 usenet:...!asuvax!mcdphx!hrc!microm!brad | 602/894-5526
