   I post this news earlier but it doesn't seems going through, so I try it again.  
Is there anybody knows what the following means:
     
             8FS 20-bit digital linear conversion

   I saw it once on the front panel of PIONEER laser-disc player. What does 
"8FS" means and it seems that only this product is using linear conversion (D/A?). 
What is the true story behind this ? Any comments ??
