The wonderful folks at PIXAR have probably written quite a few articles there in the past. You should be able to find back issues at your nearest school of engineering library. (SIGGRAPH ain't a bad thing to be a member of either; you get the magazine and other benefits, and it's cheap if you're a student =). Also look for references (books & articles) on "Renderman", which is the PIXAR-developed computer-rendering environment now being made available to the rest of us. They used it (or were at least developing it) to make "Tin Toy" and the snowman one. Amazing stuff! - Mike
