How about an Amiga with a DCTV. The DCTV will capture any still frame off of video using a composite in (yes I know you probably won't get 300dpi - you'll get info in 24 bit though) With the software that comes with DCTV you can modify the scanned image to your hearts content, plus since it's already coming out in composite what you'll see is what you'll get. And yes it's possible to animate these semi-24 bit/NTSC conforming pictures without using a single frame recorder (saving you even more money) Total cost (ballpark figure - rounding up in canadian funds) Amiga2000 $2400 DCTV $ 600 Vee Cee aRh $ xx (hopefully this VCR has a clean freeze frame) = $3500 I realize that if you NEED 300 dpi this won't do.
