Only its behavior from the viewpoint of the virtual-address-space program is described. Extensions to the page-table-entry format and such to support mapping pages into expanded storage are not in the Principles of Operation. Therefore, I don't see how Dave Weintraub or anyone else for that matter can tell whether MVPG will meet a particular need.
