Unfortunately, the only code I have found to convert any sort of image to Color postscript (RGB mapped) is in the PBMPLUS package - which is not being very friendly in my attempts to compile under MSDOS. The images I am using start as Targa-24 digitized images, which are 24 bit color. I usually map that down to a 256 color palette, since the 24 bit color is not terribly neccessary. I have written utilities to convert the Targa images to TIFF and GIF, but not knowing all that much about how color Postscript works, I would prefer to look at someone else's code before attacking the proverbial "red book". I would also like to find code (or a public domain or shareware utility) that is feasible under the MSDOS platform. Pushing large bitmaps between my unix machine and my PS/2 at 2400 baud is not my idea of a party... Any help will be greatly appreciated!
